Whether we are aware of it our not, our society
is being shaped by the mainstream media. Many people
in Western societies run their lives with a background
of 24 hour television or radio news, which sends out
a continual flood of negativity. The 'news' is always
bad: terrorism, murder, rape, home invasions and child
abuse.
Today, ownership of the television networks, newspapers,
cable channels, movie studios, music labels, makers
of video games, publishing houses has been concentrated
in the hands of just
six incredibly powerful media corporations whose
only aim is make
a profit and to push their own political agendas.
Owners of the media believe that bad news, scaring people
out of their wits, increases sales and makes more money
for them. When do you ever see information in the mainstream
media about spirituality or afterlife discoveries?
Fortunately, many people these days are becoming more
discriminating and know how to keep away from negativity
in the media. People prefer to be reading positive meaningful
information that informs and enlightens.So, let's all use caution and
not allow the rubbish to clog our minds.
