COMMENTARY:
DISINFORMATION AND DISCERNMENT Many
of us who have had the privilege of sitting repeatedly
with a genuine physical medium like David Thompson,
John Sloan or Leslie Flint, know, without doubt, that
they are able to provide the most amazing proof that
there is no death and that life is eternal.
But sadly, when it comes to the skeptics' attitude to
physical mediumship, it seems that things have changed
little in 150 years. Michael Tymn's description of the
treatment meted out to the Davenport Brothers in his
excellent article 'Were
the Davenport Brothers Mere Humbugs?' could well
apply to just about any physical medium of today or
yesterday.
Michael
Tymn writes: "Some esteemed men and women of
science observed a particular medium on hundreds of
occasions under conditions completely ruling out deception
of any kind. And yet, other scientists concluded that
fraud was the only explanation, primarily because everything
they observed defied known natural law. Their careers
would have been endangered had they subscribed to an
unnatural or 'unscientific' explanation."
"In some cases a magician was called
in to debunk the supposed medium, and usually these
magicians came up with ways they 'could have' simulated
the phenomena..."
"Journalists and historians, wanting
to appear intelligent and scientific, not as gullible
fools buying into ridiculous 'religious' superstition
and folly, usually aligned themselves with the debunkers,
completely ignoring the controlled studies by some researchers
and recording only the verdicts of the debunkers."
My experience is that the people who are in the best
position to give you feedback about the genuineness
of a physical medium are the men and women who are members
of the medium's home circle. Almost without exception,
they are people of integrity who devote years to developing
the mediumship and understanding its complexity.
Kudos to N. Riley Heagarty for ignoring the disinformation
of sources like Wikipedia and using his discernment,
in digging deeply into the evidence about the Davenport
Brothers in his new book, Wizards

THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE OF DANIEL
DUNGLAS HOME - A KEITH PARSONS DOCUMENTARY Daniel
Dunglas Home (pronounced ‘Hume’) was a Scottish medium
who started having visions and contact with spirits

he was turned out of the house as a teenager since his

information from his dead father - no one else knew
about. From that time onward, Findlay dedicated his
time to working to promote Spiritualism and prove the

Medium Isabelle Duchene writes: "Padre
Pio and physical mediumship, his confession chair
was his cabinet, he spoke with spirits, talked with

THE AMAZING DIVALDO FRANCO Thanks
