1) Medrado is a physical medium, not a painter, or an illusionist.
2) He goes into a trance and allows a group of painters in spirit (including Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Matisse, Gauguin, Cassatt, Da Vinci, Morisot, and Manet) to paint incredible pictures through him in minutes.
3) After the session which lasts about 1 hour, the paintings are offered by auction.
4) All proceeds go to the amazing social work of his City of Light that helps a disadvantaged community in Brazil.
MORE ABOUT JOSÉ MEDRADO José Medrado is a Brazilian physical medium (as was Chico Xavier) and spiritual teacher from Salvador, the capital of Brazil’s northeastern state of Bahia. He is a dedicated Spiritist and saw spirt from his early years. From his late teens he produced full materialisations (see photos in the video about his life below). However, after some time, he found it too much strain on his body.
The painter Renoir came to him with a proposition to "turn paint into bread" to fund the orphanage which Medrado had taken over at age 17.
To demonstrate the power of spirit, and to raise funds for his ongoing charity work, Medrado goes into a trance and allows a group of painters in spirit to paint through him. The works are then offered to those present at his demonstrations by auction.
THE SOCIAL WORK OF THE CITY OF LIGHT
Many years ago Medrado was told that if any monies meant to support his charity work were were not used for that purpose, the painters would no longer co-operate.
His centre is the City of Light in Salvador Brazil - see www.CidadeDaLuz.com.br runs a huge number of programs supported by over 200 volunteers and about 20 paid staff. For decades, Cidade da Luz has supported thousands of people through education, food assistance, health and wellbeing programs, spiritual counselling, community outreach, cultural inclusion, and volunteer-led humanitarian work. It has truly been a beacon of light that has changed countless lives.
THINGS YOU MIGHT NOTICE IN THE SESSION
When Medrado gets ready to paint, and during the demonstrations, some members of the audience can perceive a distinct smell of ether.
The wet paints do not run together like normal paints.
During the sessions his body jolts when each painter arrives and leaves.

BUYING A PAINTING
There are usually 10 paintings on offer at live auction at the end of a demonstration. They are a unique memento of an extraordinary event and a wonderful talking point for your home or church.
Successful bidders will receive an authentication certificate and, if desired, a photo with José as a special memory.
Auction participation is completely optional. You are warmly welcome to simply attend, observe, and enjoy this unique experience.
