COMMENTARY:
LAWYERS WHO INVESTIGATED THE AFTERLIFE We
should all be forever grateful for the credible
men and women, often at the top of their professions,
who investigated the evidence for the afterlife and
were prepared to make a public stand to support it.
Most of them had absolutely nothing to gain and often
acted at great personal cost.
As a lawyer, I was always interested in the testimonies
of the many lawyers and judges among the early afterlife
investigators, since they had the advantage of experience
in evaluating the credibility of witnesses and assessing
the strength of evidence in real-life situations. As
the famous afterlife researcher Edward C. Randall put
it, "let me say that over twenty years in the active
practice of law, largely in trial cases, coming in contact
with many great minds has qualified me to do certain
things: i.e. to estimate the weight and value of evidence
fairly; to detect fraud in any guise; to know when a
fact is proved.”
Edward C. Randall was one of many lawyers and judges who
made an enormous contribution to afterlife research.
He approached the investigation of the afterlife as
an open-minded skeptic. He and his wife spent twenty-two years recording sittings with a brilliant
direct voice medium, Mrs. Emily French, and wrote seven stunning books on their experiences. Read

RESEARCH Dr. Richard
Ireland (father of author
Mark Ireland) helped identify favorable sites for
gold, oil, and gas exploration, working with investor
Jerry Conser. Dr. Ireland donated proceeds from this
work to charitable organizations, including an orphanage
in Mexico. "It's a gift from God, so I don't believe
in abusing it. I am dedicated to making man's lot on
this earth better," he said. Jerry Conser used
part of the proceeds to support the Psychical Research
