COMMENTARY: WE ARE ALL CONNECTED Messages coming from our friends and teachers in Spirit have been warning us for years of the dangers of materialism which Silver Birch defined as follows:
"Materialism is, by its very nature, the worship of greed for money and possessions, concerned with the individual’s pleasures and possessions to the exclusion of thought or care for others who share this planet.”
There is nothing wrong with scientific advances and technological progress in themselves. They have brought us incredible benefits, and most people would not want to go back to life as it was before the industrial revolution. But the issue is balance. Can we live simply with technology in such a way that the balance of nature is not threatened? Can we maintain our connections with spirit and with each other in the face of increasing competition for scarce resources?
This is the dilemma facing mankind today as our current way of life is devastating the forests, rivers, and oceans, the air, the quality of food, and very existence of other species. Whether you accept that climate change is caused by carbon emissions or something else, no one can deny that Spaceship Earth is in big trouble, and that business as usual is no longer an option.
Sadly many in the modern age fail to realise the great truth known to all indigenous peoples: that all life is interconnected.

WATER THE SEED OF TRUTH - BUT DON'T DROWN IT
On learning spiritual truths, some people, in their joy and enthusiasm, become overanxious and overeager to convince others of what has brought them so much to be thankful for. This is a mistake because overwhelming others with truths before they are ready usually makes
them draw tighter the shutters that obscure the light. It is much wiser to drop a seed here, a seed there, and wait to see that the soil is fertile before trying to do more.
