COMMENTARY: A WORLD TRANSFORMED?
Would it make any difference if all people in the world understood the real nature of the afterlife? Our hope is that it would/will make a big difference!
1) First and foremost it would reduce the hopeless and helpless grief that comes from the false belief that we will never see our loved ones again after they die.
2) It would take away the needless fear of death, judgement, and hellfire.
3) It would take away the hostility between different religions and help people to realise that there are many paths to spiritual growth.
4) Once we realise that qualities like unselfishness, compassion, gentleness, and kindness are those that prepare people best for the afterlife, our society will come to value and nurture these qualities and transform the world.
5) It would automatically reduce the work of the many millions of wonderful souls in the afterlife who have to counsel the uninformed on crossing over.
"AFTER DEATH" A NEW FILM ABOUT NDES
There's a new film about NDEs showing in 2,200 theatres across The United States. It presents itself as a "faith-based" American Christian documentary film. It consists of intense high-resolution dramatisations of 10 near-death experiences including those of Mary Neal, Steve Kang, Don Piper, Dale Black, and Howard Storm. It also has interviews with Dr. Michael Sabom, Dr. Jeffrey Long, and Dr. Raymond Moody. For those familiar with the field of NDE studies there is nothing new here, except perhaps significant emphasis on negative near-death experiences claiming that
25% of NDEs are negative. IANDS on the other hand says it's between 1 and 15 % and most end up being positive - See IANDS on distressing NDEs.
THE EVIDENCE FOR THE AFTERLIFE While it is wonderful to bring near-death experiences into the public eye and to provoke discussion, it is a real shame that films which try to prove life after death don't also present the other twenty-plus areas of evidence for the afterlife. Mediumship, after-death contacts, deathbed visions, out-of-body experiences, pre-birth experiences, reincarnation research, the electronic voice phenomenon, and ITC, etc. have been researched by some of the greatest minds in history. They reinforce each other and together present "a bundle of sticks" where the whole is stronger than any one part alone.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF PRESENTATION It is interesting to compare the style of the film "After Death" with this video of cardiologist Dr. Pim van Lommel who became internationally known after his ground-breaking study on NDEs (Near Death Experiences) was published in the respected medical journal, The Lancet, in 2001. Clearly, these two presentations are designed for very different audiences.
NOSSO LAR (OUR HOME)
The Brazilian movie "Nosso Lar" (also called "Our Home" or "Astral City") released in 2010, was based on the the famous book of the same name psychographed by medium Chico Xavier. Its purpose was to show people the reality of life in the spirit world from the point of view of Andre Luiz, a long-term resident. Watch the movie here.
Detailed drawings of the city in "Nosso Lar" as well as the architecture of the buildings, ministries, and homes, were created by the medium Heigorina Cunha through her observations made during her travels outside of the body in March 1979, led and guided by the spirit Lucius. Her drawings were clarified and confirmed by the medium Chico Xavier who claimed that Nosso Lar was the astral-equivalent city of Rio de Janeiro.

THE MESSENGERS Following "Nosso Lar", Andre Luiz dictated a further 12 books to Chico Xavier which together are called the "Life in the Spirit World Collection". Number 2 in the series is "The Messengers". In fifty-one chapters, it describes the experiences of a number of spirits who reincarnated with preplanned endeavors needed for their personal spiritual growth and how spirits were sent to help them when they were in danger of getting off-track. A movie version of the book has been completed and is in post-production. It is expected to be released in Brazil in late January 2024. Read more about the coming film.
JANE ROBERTS TALKS ABOUT HER OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCES
This book has Jane Roberts' astral projection experiences combined with Seth’s explanations. These happened during the 1960s and predate Robert Monroe’s first book. Seth has fascinating new information about the different states. The sections on OBEs start at chapter 19.
