COMMENTARY: HOW TO CHANGE THE WORLD
One of the key indicators that a near-death experience is not just the random firings of neurons at the end of life is that experiencers come back with a profound shift in values and a desire to change the world by changing themselves.
NDE experiencer Howard Storm was told that the future is not fixed: “We have free will. If we change the way we are, then we can change the future which they showed me. They showed me a view of the future, at the time of my experience, based upon how we in the United States were behaving at that time. It was a future in which a massive worldwide depression would occur. If we were to change our behavior, however, then the future would be different.”
“All it takes to make a change is one person. One person, trying, and then because of that, another person changing for the better. They said that the only way to change the world was to begin with one person. One will become two, which will become three, and so on. That’s the only way to effect a major change.”
Dannion Brinkley also gives the following advice on how people can change the world: “The quickest way to change the world is to be of service to others. Show that your love can make a difference in the lives of people and thereby someone else’s love can make a difference in your life. INGRID HONKALA Ph.D. HAD THREE NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES
Colombian-born Ingrid Honkala, Ph.D.,had her first near-death experience at the age of two and came back with knowledge far ahead of her peers. At five she decided that she would work with the oceans and single-mindedly pursued that path becoming an oceanographer. She remained deeply connected to Spirit and is now an inspirational speaker and teacher. In her presentation she shared highlights of her book "A Brightly Guided Life - How a Scientist Learned to Hear Her Inner Wisdom" that show that we are eternal beings, we are never alone, we are more connected than we think we are and we are the Light. WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES?
We highly recommend Kenneth Ring's book Lessons from the Light to anyone interested in theology. After studying thousands of NDEs he writes:

"THE SCIENCE OF LIFE AFTER DEATH" WITH PROFESSOR ALEXANDER MOREIRA-ALMEIDA
Alexander Moreira-Almeida, MD, is Professor of Psychiatry at the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF) in Brazil. He is the coauthor of the book, "Science of Life After Death". Here he identifies the primary scientific objection to postmortem survival as physicalism, the metaphysical notion that nature is entirely based on matter. He points out that this common notion within academia is not a requirement of science. In fact, it has long been disputed within philosophy, going back to Plato, and is not accepted by many Brazilian psychiatrists and academics. He describes research with Brazilian medium, Chico Xavier as well as research on reincarnation and near-death experiences.
FASCINATING EXPERIENCES WITH MATERIALISATION
In this fascinating article from the Theosophical Society's 'Journal of Religion and Psychical Research' Volume 11, No 2, April 1988, Mr. John R. Crowley talks about his experiences in a seance with physical medium Rev. Warren Smith in New York in 1947. He claims that William James (pictured left) the first educator to offer a psychology course in the USA, materialised and told the sitters that he was working with a group of 42 college students and their two professors who had died in a plane crash. "Now", he said, "Would you like to meet one of the students who, as you call it, 'died' in the plane crash, and has been a part of our experiment?" Naturally, we said "Yes!" and a young man materialized and stood next to him. We talked with him and were struck by his total normality...no evidence of trauma to heart or mind caused by his sudden death." THE CHESS GAME FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE
Vernon Neppe, MD, PhD, FRSSAf, is a neuropsychiatrist based in Seattle. Here he provides a detailed analysis of a chess match played between a living grandmaster, Victor Korchnoi, and an ostensible deceased grandmaster, Géza Maróczy, whose moves were communicated through a spiritualist medium using automatic writing. Neppe argues that this is a strong case supporting the hypothesis of survival of consciousness after death. It combines an unusual degree of accurate information with a high level of chess skill, plus aspects of personality.
AN ATTEMPT TO VALIDATE THE VOICES FROM A DEEP TRANCE MEDIUM Charles Hapgood was a professor at Keene State in New Hampshire. He spent 15 years investigating the mediumship of Elwood Babbitt (1921 – 2001). Hapgood made recordings of at least 100 different trance entities who spoke through the medium including Jesus, Albert Einstein, Mark Twain, and the Hindu god Vishnu. He was keen to show that the entities were different from each other and different from the medium. He found that EEGs of the medium's brain showed a completely different pattern according to which entity was in control. He also showed that different entities responded differently to a word association test.
Hapgood coauthored three books with Babbitt. The first, "Voices of Spirit" is a scientific and historical approach to the world of mediumship. The second book "The God Within - A Testament of Vishnu" and the third book "Talks With Christ and His Teachers" are primarily transcriptions of trance lectures claimed to have been given by the Vishnu Force, Jesus Christ, and other figures.
MEDIUM JOHN EDWARD
John Edward's television series "Crossing Over" was broadcast around the world between 2001 and 2004. For many people, it was a first exposure to quality mental mediumship. In this clip, John begins by answering questions including whether it is possible to get messages from someone in a coma. He then does an audience reading where he demonstrates his characteristic ability to get highly specific details and his refusal to give up on placing a message once it is given - something that "cold readers" never do.
DON'T RELY ON WIKIPEDIA FOR AFTERLIFE FACTS Everyone involved in Afterlife research is aware that Wikipedia has been taken over by an organised group of skeptics. Every biography of a medium or psychic or an investigator has been trashed to suggest that they were fraudulent and that there were no investigations carried out apart from those by one or two skeptics who are quoted. As an alternative check out The Psi Encyclopedia, a new collection of articles and case studies about psi research, the scientific investigation of psychic phenomena. It's a work in progress, being created by the Society for Psychical Research in London.
HARRY STAYED CLOSE TO EARTH WHEN HE DIED We have many direct first-hand accounts of what happened to people when they died through more than 600 recordings made by Betty Green and George Woods. The information came from people in spirit speaking through the direct-voice medium Leslie Flint.
One of those recordings is of a spirit named Harry, who turned up at a Leslie Flint sitting in 1957. Harry says that he didn't believe in an afterlife and when he died, he stayed around his friends. He went to pubs and then realised he could now travel the world. But no one could hear him, and no one could see him, so it was a lonely existence as an Earth-bound spirit. After some time, he sensed another spirit following him, so he found a quiet place and sent out a thought asking for help.
